H1N1 - cure for the itch

well i bet evrybody knows about this pandemic H1N1 which has progressed to 70 cases of death today in Malaysia.

ppl died of organ failure, most of it by upper respiratory tract infection.

evryones been whining about H1N1 nowadays. some say its so contagious that they cant even get near the patient to review. some wont even change the freakin tube. others just look while keep on changing masks n wash their hands while trying to steal the PPE (surgical dress) to avoid getting the infection. well we (not to say it proudly) are the ones who are brave enuff n always care about patients. if ure scared of treating those who got infected, later dont blame others for not treating u!

and dont even give excuse like "i have kids", "i have asthma" and i tell u what? - those are all bullshit!

we doctors (plus of course brave nurses) wont even neglect a single emergency case regardless life due to our own health condition.some even take boosters for influenza but do u know the contraindication? - it wil somehow react back to this H1N1 virus.

to be honest i was quite pissed to know these ppl who saved themselves first upon others.

for your information, H1N1 are extremely contagious for pregnant women, patient with respiratory problems and of course kids.

let me give u some guidance,

i ) in order to review this patient insede the isolation room;

- 3 feet without touching, only MASKS are needed.

after that throw away the masks n wash ur hands.

ii) in order to change the tube or be close to the patient;

- wear a plastic apron, a mask n gloves ONLY!

iii) in order to take nasal swab, treat n review patient so close;

- surgical suit + cap (1 piece), n95 mask, visor, gloves

so u get my idea.

- if u came from the hospital,u were in the isolation room, go BATHE n change ur CLOTHES.

- if u came bak from reviewing someone from the isolation room, THROW ur MASK within the hospital area- dun bring it home as it brings all the contagious along!

- DONT wear ur mask n TOUCH it over n over again, then touch ur face. (if u touch, wash ur face)

- DONT WEAR ur mask for MORE THAN 4 hours - it wil get wet n will not be efficient anymore.

- KEEP ur MASK SECURE to ur face area

so these are a few KKM guidlines that i get from todays H1N1 talk in our hospital here in BP.

and if u have symptom of fever for 2 days -PLZ SEEK HELP! get doctor to prescribe TUMIFLU.

if symptoms persistent n u are suspected - PLZ QUARANTINE urself!

i hope u follow my advice as it will save ur life in the future.
